Ms Hamideh Nouri

Biography

Hamideh Nouri is currently a PhD student in the Centre for Water Management and Reuse (CWMR), University of South Australia (UniSA). She obtained her BSc in Irrigation Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran in June 2000. Hamideh worked closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and Isfahan City Council for 7 years as an irrigation and drainage specialist and manager of the Arya-Agri Tech Company in Isfahan, Iran. She has been involved in more than 100 projects involving pressurized irrigation design and implementation. Hamideh moved to Malaysia to continue her study in Soil and Water Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). After receiving her MSc in June 2009, she worked as a research and teaching assistant at UPM. In August 2010, she was awarded a University President’s Scholarship (UPS) from UniSA. Her research project focuses on sustainable irrigation of the Adelaide Parklands using recycled wastewater. This project is funded by SA Water and the Goyder Institute for Water Research and is supported by Adelaide City Council. Some of her awards are as follows: Travel scholarship to attend an international workshop in water and urban systems (France-2013), Goyder Institute PhD Supplement (2012), Mawson Lakes Fellowship from SA Government to conduct research in Japan (2011), UPS (UniSA-2010), Graduate Research Fellowship (UPM-2010), First class in MSc (CGPA 4 of 4), winner of the Bronze Medal for the research project - Innovation Festival of PRPi09 (Malaysia-2009). IDB fellowship for pressurized irrigation workshop (Pakistan-2009), Graduate Research Assistantship (UPM-2007), FAO scholarship for Rainwater Harvesting (China-2003) and Governmental fellowship for BSc study (Iran-1996)
