Mr Alaa Ahmed

Biography

Alaa Ahmed is a PhD Student in hydrogeology at the University of South Australia. He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of Cairo (Egypt) in 2004, and  an MSc in hydrogeology from Ain Shams University (Egypt) in 2010. During his MSc, Alaa worked as an associate researcher in the Desert Research Centre in Egypt, where he participated in numerous projects involving groundwater sampling, performing field measurements, chemical analysis, analysis and evaluation of groundwater and surface water for different purposes (human use, agriculture, industrial, etc). His current research interests are focused on the use of isotopes, chemistry and modelling to understand catchment hydrological processes.
