Groundbreaking study on the extinction risk of Australian freshwater fish
The CLLMM Research Centre Science Research Program Manager, Dr Nick Whiterod co-authored a comprehensive assessment of the conservation status of Australian freshwater fish. More than 50 fish experts were involved in the study which found 37 percent of all assessed freshwater fish species are threatened with extinction. The main threats were invasive species, changes to habitat and climate change.
