New highlights from the CLLMM Research Centre

Horizon Scan Survey
Thanks to those who provided input! The Horizon Scan survey has now closed – 640 responses were received from people across the region and beyond. The responses cover a wide range of challenges, opportunities and novel questions. The Adelaide University team are busy analysing the survey data and preparing for workshopping with CLLMM RC advisory groups and key stakeholders of the region. There will also be a number of public events planned for April where the public can hear about the results and provide further feedback.

Summer Series of Science
The Summer of Science is back this year with two Spirit of the Coorong Science Tours. Guests enjoyed stunning views of the Coorong and River Murray while hearing expert insights on the region’s ecology, history, and climate. Read more about these sell-out events and the incredible knowledge shared by our speakers, including researchers from Adelaide and Flinders Universities, in our full story on the CLLMM RC website. Th final event of the summer, Speed Dating with Science (Climate Adaptation) is sold out, but a waitlist for last minute tickets is available.  Add your name to the list for a chance to mingle with eight scientists from various climate-related disciplines at the Centre, who’ll be sharing their insights and ready to answer all your climate-related questions.

How do you use your local beaches?
We’d love to know how you use the Coorong’s ocean beaches – from Middleton to Cape Jaffa. What makes them special to you? What’s most important to you about this area?

The Ocean Beach Ecology and Threats project, led by Assoc Prof Craig Styan is exploring how people understand and feel about protecting beaches and their wildlife. This link will take you to an anonymous mapping exercise and a short survey run by UniSA (now Adelaide University). You can do one or both! Take the survey
