Goyder Institute launches Strategic Plan 2026-2029

The Goyder Institute for Water Research has launched its Strategic Plan 2026-2029, setting a clear direction for the Institute’s next phase of growth and impact.

Developed in consultation with partners and stakeholders, the plan reaffirms the Institute’s role as a trusted bridge between science, policy and practice, delivering research that supports evidence-based decision-making and sustainable water management. It outlines three strategic goals focused on enhancing impactful research, strengthening collaboration and partnerships, and building capability and influence.

The plan also identifies four priority areas for the next four years: climate response, water security and integrated water management, partnering with First Nations, and food, energy and resources.

As the Institute enters its fourth term, the plan positions it to strengthen partnerships, expand its impact, and continue delivering collaborative research that benefits communities, industry and the environment.

Consultation is now underway to develop an implementation plan that will guide delivery of the strategy and translate its priorities into actions, initiatives and measurable outcomes over the coming four years.
