Task 5 report: Groundwater, Ecology, Surface water and Wetland Assessment Tool (GESWAT) – Spatial Data Dictionary
This report presents Task 5 of the Adaptation of the South-Eastern drainage system under a changing climate project, describing the development of the Groundwater, Ecology, Surface water and Wetland Assessment Tool (GESWAT). GESWAT is a dynamic GIS platform that integrates outputs from the other project tasks with critical datasets, including surface water flows, groundwater levels, rainfall, annual water use and allocations, and ecological information. The tool provides the Limestone Coast Landscape Board and partner agencies with a single platform to view, compare, and interrogate diverse hydrological and ecological data, supporting informed policy and water management decisions, including the potential use of water in the drainage network.
The project was jointly funded by the Australian Government through the National Water Grid Fund, the Limestone Coast Landscape Board, and the South Australian Government. It was delivered by the Goyder Institute for Water Research in partnership with CSIRO, the University of South Australia, Flinders University, and the University of Adelaide, in collaboration with the Limestone Coast Landscape Board, the South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board, and the Department for Environment and Water.
